Chamber Concerto

Genre:  Large Ensemble (7 or more players) - flute, clarinet doubling bass clarinet, horn, piano, violin, cello

Description: Work in Four Movements for Seven Players
Duration: 17 minutes
Date: 2010

Programme Note

Chamber Concerto was written for the virtuoso musicians of the New Music Players and its composition was influenced by the dynamic methods of the famous Soviet film director Sergei Eisenstein (I previously wrote scores to Eisenstein's silent films Strike and Battleship Potemkin).

Chamber Concerto (2010) whose four movements outline a nominally classical trajectory that is continually undercut by the deft superimposition of oblique harmonies and textures. Richard Whitehouse, International Record Review (Jan 2013)
